From Field House Brewing in Abbotsford in collaboration with Smoking Gun Coffee Roasters out of Mission comes their “Whiskey & Oak Imperial Coffee Brown” a beer originally brewed for the Hopwired craft beer and coffee festival. The beer pours a deep brown colour with a brown head. The aroma consists of coffee, roasted malts, nuts, chocolate and a sweetness in the finish. The flavour is of coffee, roasted malts, smoke, nuts, chocolate, vanilla, oak, earth and some mild bitterness. The alcohol content comes in at 7% with an IBU of 25. This was a really well executed collaboration and I hope they keep bringing it back in the future.
