From Silver Valley Brewing out of Maple Ridge comes their “Dark Necessities Mocha Stout”.  The beer pours a deep black colour with a brown head.  The aroma consists of coffee, roasted malts, chocolate, and a semi sweet finish.  The flavour is of roasted malts, caramel, earth, chocolate, burnt coffee and bitterness.  The alcohol content comes in at 6% with an IBU of 40.  This was a tasty beer to be sure although not super sweet.

Commercial Description:  A classic American Stout, combined with cocoa nibs, and cold brewed coffee to create a rich and complex collaboration brew with our friends at Maple Meadows Brewing! Pair with roasted meats if you’d like, but this beer works best while enjoying a piece chocolate cake.
