From Silver Valley Brewing out of Maple Ridge comes their “Black Days Black IPA”. The beer pours a black colour with a brown head. The aroma consists of roasted malts, ash, hint of coffee and some floral notes. The flavour is of chocolate, roasted malts, earth, ash, bitterness and coffee. The alcohol content comes in at 6.5% with an IBU of 70.  I love a good Black IPA and this is one of those.

Commercial Description:  A hybrid between a Stout or Porter and West Coast IPA. Meaning there’s plenty of roast and chocolate malts to balance out the tropical hop flavours and aromas. Pairs well with dark roasted meats, and dark chocolate desserts.
