From Granville Island Brewing out of Vancouver comes their new “Mocha Porter” featuring decaf coffee from JJ Bean Coffee Roasters. The beer pours a deep brown with a light brown head. The aroma consist of chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, ash and maybe even a hint of dark fruit. The flavour is of chocolate, roasted malts, ash, burnt coffee, toffee, slight nutty, bitterness and a hint of dark fruit. The alcohol content comes in at 6% with an IBU of 25. This is a good new addition to the seasonal lineup of beer for Granville Island.
Commercial Description: We brew Mocha Porter in partnership with JJ Bean, our long-time Granville Island neighbour. Fresh-ground JJ Bean decaf dark roast coffee, real cocoa and roasted malts greet you up front, with lightly bitter hop notes lingering behind. Like a rich mocha, this cozy porter is made for sweater weather.
