Mocha Porter – Granville Island Brewing

From Granville Island Brewing out of Vancouver comes their new “Mocha Porter” featuring decaf coffee from JJ Bean Coffee Roasters.  The beer pours a deep brown with a light brown head.  The aroma consist of chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, ash and maybe even a hint of dark fruit.  The flavour is of chocolate, roasted malts, ash, burnt coffee, toffee, slight nutty, bitterness and a hint of dark fruit.  The alcohol content comes in at 6% with an IBU of 25.  This is a good new addition to the seasonal lineup of beer for Granville Island.

Commercial Description:  We brew Mocha Porter in partnership with JJ Bean, our long-time Granville Island neighbour. Fresh-ground JJ Bean decaf dark roast coffee, real cocoa and roasted malts greet you up front, with lightly bitter hop notes lingering behind.
